DJ Furious Styles
Title: The Rebirth: The Breeding Ground Mixtape

Track list

I can't think of another DJ who supports the unsigned/underground artist more than Furious Styles. Not only on mixtapes but on his radio show on XM. While other DJs think they have to have big names and major label exclusive's to spin this man is looking for the next big thing in hip hop...everyday all day. I'm pretty sure that's why AllHipHop selected him for this project to ride along with their AllHipHop week. Shout to AllHipHop for doing it bigger and better then the rest as well as supporting that unsigned artist.

DJ Drama, Talib Kweli, and David Banner co-sign and lend some hosting duties to the project. If there's one MC to lead the re-birth of this music its Jon Hope. "Change My Ways"...the word play is Nas like on this one. One thing Hedonis brings on "Kick In The Door" is a huge MIC presence with a flow like a vet. On the group side of things you got The League. "Shoot Or Bleed" is potent and showcases their superior hook game. The dude Kaze broke down the realness on "I Was Raised On It"....best concept I've heard all year on a track. Willie Joe gave AllHipHop a theme song with "AllHipHop.com". He got MIC skills but compared to the tracks ahead of him he isn’t really say much with the rhyme. Gary Indiana's own Freddie Gibbs got skills too. I've been fucking with his music since 2004 and "Hold Me Back" is that well rounded sound he's perfected. Wale got a nice flow..."Ice Cream Girl" has hit potential. Joell Ortiz paints the illest picture with "Life". If you can't dig that joint you must not be a hip hop fan. Willie The Kid and LA lace the end of the CD with that flashy fly shit "Berettas", that's theme music to do dirt on some true mixtape shit. "Been dope / Willie got bars Yo I been soap / ni99a only family matters...Eddie Winslow". Not only that Willie called himself a "born again nympho" on the track too, hahaha....classic.

Furious Styles got that mixtape formula down like a true vet at this point. The unsigned grind continues with Furious Styles helping lead the way. This project right here does what it was supposed to do. AllHipHop gets there promo, the artists get their promo and the mixtape itself proves to be a valuable tool in making shit happen. (9/20/07)
