I hope you producers are up on the PMP website. One of the most innovative music websites out there today. Shout to them for being true visionaries and pushing that envelope. DJ Furious Styles is a good fit for this project too. He's one of the most supportive DJs for unsigned artist so why not on the producer end? I don't listen to many instrumental mixtapes but this is an exception because if it's one thing I do know is a hot ass beat. I have my neck brace by my side and my head phones on so let's see who's going to snap my neck today.
That intro beat was the wheel. I'm not a huge synth sounding fan but Breez did his thing on that joint. "Violent Orch" by MDot is neck snapping. I'd like to hear a scratched hook over this one after dropping the "orch" part in the beat. "Samp Banger" by The Kickdrums is one of the most polished joint on here. I'm diggin' the energy on "Get Down" by Doc Jay too. That's some shit I can hear The Clipse on. Shout to DJ Nice, he went in with "Crack City"...driving yet mellow type of joint. I like "A Man's World" by Platinum Sounds Productions but you need a skilled MC to spit over that beat...it's to slow for most cats and if their voice is wack it's a wrap. "I'm Reloaded" is another polished joint...Soundsmith on the beat. Those claps threw me off at first tho. I'm diggin' on Cook N Soul flipped the vocals on "Oh Baby"...another polished track for the people.
There are no bonified "hits" on here if you talking radio smash ect. I do however hear some anthems in the making and some quality mixtape and album music. Me personally that's what I prefer but I know cats got to eat and getting on say a Mariah Carey album that sells a couple million albums never hurts...right? Anyway, shout to Furious Styles for pushing that "mixtape" envelope as usual, he's got all his bases covered now when it comes to cats on the come up. Remember who was the first to do it and not only that he'll be the only one to do it consistiently. (3/18/08)
