They're back. The only true east coast exclusive mixtape series making a dent in the pavement right now. "Soundtrack To the Streets" mixtape series? Nope, fell off. "G Unit Radio" mixtape series? Nope, fell off. Any DJ White Owl mixtape...nope-(don't make me laugh). No mixtape series from top to bottom of the track list pops off like a Potent Product mixtape. Yea a couple other cats get a track or two here or there but they ain't fucking with Diggz and Rated R man. You other DJs don't get mad just fall back and pay attention and maybe you too one day can have the # 1 series in the streets.

Prodigy serving up that filet mignon flow on “No Love, No Wins”. This is mixtape music at its finest; it’s why you cop them in the first place. Un Pacino laced “Public Enemy”, more mixtape music for that ass…shit was mad short tho. Nino Bless went in on “4 In the Clip”, dude was shinning with some MIC vets. I can’t forget Styles P on “Johnny’s Dead”. Style’s stays with a mix tape flip in the streets. J-Hood...man I don’t know about that dude. If I was him I might be heading to job core or some shit like that, go learn air conditioning and refrigeration and live a normal life. I don’t see him making it as an MC going forward. AHK and Jae-Nom pretty much ate him alive and I’ve never heard of either of them before. Yayo doing what he does on the hook for “Down 2 Ride”…the verse was average tho. It’s always a pleasure to hear new Big Noyd. “The Money” got that knock and well Noyd is just being Noyd…that’s how you keep your fan base coming back for more. Cassidy runs thru “more snow than Santa” on “Paper Chaser”. He stays with potent punch lines too. “Get Low” is that bang bang shoot ‘em up, Gangsta Lou got an ill voice. The sleeper track on here is “Breathe” with Ransom and Cerose. Most DJs would chop off the “English” rappers verse but dude went in and well Ransom laid his verse’s to rest with ease.

You know what? Other DJs may move more “exclusive” units but that shit doesn’t compare quality wise. You could have 60 year old Asian grandmother on the cover, nude, having sex with animals and the shit would still be POTENT PRODUCT. It’s not always how pretty the package is that determines how good the final product will be. I’m finished what I had to say, ya’ll can go back to doing what ever it is you were doing. (1/15/08)
