DJ 1Mic getting his weight up people. I'm diggin' the grind and the focus. He's got the total package with Kenny Fiesta on the graphics too. Don't even start the graphics don't matter argument cause if you are truly serious about "your" mixtape business then you have to come to the table properly and that includes graphics as well as dope music, skills, an ear and "clear and crispy" audio. I might have picked a different title to the CD, I think it's been done before...maybe something like "No Ringtones Allowed" or as simple as "Against the Grain" cause that's what he's doing while breading artists.
With that said, Sha Stimuli is that artist. One listen to "Get Better" and you should be a Sha Stimuli fan. Its a great thing that MCs are finally making music with some substance and a message. I'm gonna miss not hearing any more Stack Bundles and Ransom colaborations. "Bidding War" is cool as a fan but it shows you what will never be again....damn. "Brooklyn" is a hit, fuck that, cats need to shoot a video already. Fab may be on that pop shit a lot of the time but he can flat out rhyme when he wants too. Honestly Eminem seems out of place on here. "Pistop Poppin" was aight but I still can't really get into it. Eminem talking about shooters just doesn't work for me. Sha Stimuli breaking down his true fan base on "Strong"...building one fan at a time. I can dig that. Remo got the ultimate MIC style on "Dem Things". I don't now why cats still sleep on Remo's skills. What is there left to say about Ransom's "The Begining"? We need some new Ransom music I know that. I think we need to get Ransom and Beans on a track together, that would be some shit. Beans, when sober, got bars upon bars. "Creep Low" is my shit.
I will say it for the up-tenth time, if you drop good music consistiently you will win. 1Mic seems to be building with quality artist that are coming up and that will pay off in the end. If you don't have proper artist relations then you're just another downloading ass with no purpose. The title says "Hustle" but this shit is a business and should be treated as such to get to the next level. Like it or not that's the bottom line. (7/9/07)
