Welcome The Doe Stackas to the Rapmullet.com review section. North Philly is here to represent. Philly as a whole got talent. I've heard quite a few MCs from Philadelphia that got what it takes to take over the industry. Dare we say Philly is the new hot bed for hip hop talent? I can't call it but I def want to see cats hit with some indpendent type shit cause these labels scooping up MCs and letting em age on the shelf with no product to call their own. Will we see a Doe Stackas album anytime soon?

First track to catch my ear was "Come Through Your Hood". Cats are spittin' that Heat Miser type shit right here; beats kinda mello with an angry thump and just raw rhyming over the top. That hook is something special too. I don't know if its the slowed hooks but "The Color Purple" is the sleeper posse track of 2006. Reed Dollaz set it off with that flow for real. TD smacked the shit outta everyone tho with that line: "I'm like Shaq in the paint ya'll Ostertag". That shit had me rolling and he had one of the flashy/flyest verses on the whole CD. Bump J brought that shit home at the end. I love me some mixtape type tracks but using "Fly High" was predictable, just like "One Blood" at the begining of the project. "What Do I Have" was probably my favorite track and that shit pretty much sums up what The Doe Stackas is all about content wise. I like that little vocal sample as a hook but damn can these two talk that flashy shit on a track. Plus they trading verses on the MIC like a true polished duo. The sleeper track is "Hood Star"; Frank Mula owned this joint lyrically.

Doe Stackas can rhyme man, that shit is evident. I'm not big on material possessions and shit, I guess you grow outta the excessivness, but I def like to hear some well versed MCs talk that talk. Content wise you're not really getting anything more than, 24" in rims, 40K worth of jewels up in the club, luxury whips, packages to push, broads swallowing kids and cats that will bust they guns. To me its all entertainment, I could care less if they really live it, got it or whatever...it's entertaining and they did a hell of job talking that shit. (12/28/06)
