The only way I listen to Lil Wayne is if Rondevu is blending it. That's the truth man. You can call me a Wayne hater if you want because dude is all delivery and no substance. He could rhyme about baking cookies, raping little kids while surfing and drinking a Latte' all at the same time and you Wayne stans would say the rhyme is fly cause of the way he said it. Fucking sad. If Lil Wayne is lyrical then I'm a flying nun with big tits and a scorching case of herpes. If you don't know about Rondevu's Dirty Business mixtape series then you need to recognize the realness and pull that "banana out your ass".
Rondevu got me heated right now. I'm listening to his version of "Kiss, Kiss" and I actually like it. I despise that song man. Fucking microwave music but this is exactly what a DJ should be doing...don't just play the song make it your own. I can dig it. Truth be told, Lil Wayne and Young Buck sound dope on a track together. "Yo Hips, Yo Thighs" if it was an actual song could easily cross over with some mass appeal. Do you remember Gorilla Zoe? I wonder if his label does. He had hit records on his album and well...what were we talking about? That's the attention span of your average hiphop fan. *sighs. Peep Rondevus production on "Definition of a Hustler". Ronde gets it in with the 808 and Rick Ross sounds perfect on this shit. Fuck Soulja Boy! I'm just kidding but it was obvious Rondevu's blend with "Ain't Gonna Let Up" was gonna be fly, steel drums and all. "Pistol In My Pants" with Young Buck and T.I. is that classic blend...you're instant rewind. Not too man DJs can fuck with that beat on a blend either.
As far as southern blends go this is the mixtape to have right now. If you read my reviews you know I don't fuck with Weezy F. at all but with DJ Rondevu's ear he makes him more than listen-able for me. I had someone hit me up on AIM the other day complaining about mixtapes.."there's nothing good out right now Chew, what's going on?" I had to tell them, anytime Rondevu drops a blend joint there's something good out in the mixtape world to listen too. (11/6/07)
