A big Rapmullet.com welcome to J-Smoke. If you're not familiar with J-Smoke its ok but if you like skills on your mixtape well.....you def gotta check this joint out. Those who follow the turntablist scene know about J-Smoke and they also know he's one of the most well rounded DJs in NY and can pretty much touch all angles of being a DJ; from winning battles to parties and well of course to mixtapes. If you're looking at the title of the CD and confused you need to step up your movie game (think Brick) but it doesn't really matter once you hear this CD. Click the cover and peep the tracklist....now you want to hear it even more.

Ok...so you cop'd the CD, follow me and hop in your car aka your moms ride and make sure your Members Only driving jacket is on and you have on your one white driving glove. Put the CD in the changer, accelerate slowly...you don't want to blow the pistons through the roof of your 1992 Buik leSabre....mom will not be happy if that happens. Now that you're on the highway turn that shit up and feel the vocals from Newcleus' "Jam On It". See now you're on your way. Shitttttttttttt once Biggie's "Nasty Boy" blend hits you gots to be doing 90 in the slow lane, middle finger to the haters giving you dirty looks while actually driving the speed limit. When "It Takes Two" hits that's when the windows get rolled down and you officially act a fool. There's something fitting listening to the cast from "40 Year Old Virgin" tell each other "how they know each other is gay" while "Another One Bites the Dust" plays in the back round. You may not actually "be" gay but rolling through the local projects ice grillin' while this bumps and cats will def think you're gay. Fuck this..I'm not gonna give you mad highlights cause there's way too many joints on here. Know this tho....if you're a true blue fan of mixtapes, love the essence of what this shit is about you will get a speeding ticket while listening to this CD.

Man, J-Smoke is more than on point with the skills, cuts, mixing...you name it. His ear for music tho is what impressed me. Being able to weave in and out of old school hip hop, rock, R&B, break beats new hip hop, reggae and some shit you can't even classify is crazy. When you think of a mixtape this is the formula you picture in your head. I mean dude is killing the mix with "Know the Ledge" and next thing you now you're nodding to The Clipse and Justin Timberlake with "Like I Love You". This is the part of the review where I tell cats to take notes but naw not with this project. Don't take notes DJs cause you will not be able to do this shit ever in your life. Only a handful of DJs can pull shit off like this aka 5th Platoon, DJ Unexpected to name a few. The hard part is getting your hands on this one. Check for this CD on the Unit That Mixes real soon. Aw man the cuts at the end of "Word Up" were some shit and then he hits you with "Let The Music Play"! The first classic mixtape of 2007 people and its all about the feel good party music.......with pants...76. (1/7/07)
