Track list

The Carolina Kings are in the building; Chuck T getting his artist mixtape on and as always making a statement. I've seen Jozeemo on a couple track lists but honestly I haven't really heard dude rhyme before. If Chuck T is co-signing and took the time to submit it to Rapmullet it must be something to fuck with. Hip Hop is alive and well people. Don't let sound scan fuck your head up...it's all about good music not good album sales. The music is and always will be thriving on mixtapes.

I’m diggin’ when an artist mixtape starts off with a mixtape flip. “The Life Story” more then sets the tone; straight forward rhyming from the heart…non stop. “I blow dust in a vanilla dutch / snort some coke / then guzzle Petron”. I can’t keep up with that on “Joe Murda”; I was diggin’ that hook too. “All I Ask” is big change from “Joe Murda” but it shows the versatility. Don Cannon laces “Gangstaz” while Joe Murda gets his word play off like a vet. He said. “Flip a bitch till her pussy swole like its cake mix”…had me rolling. The bars are potent and witty. As far as posse cuts go, “Mr. Franklin” got that ill chemistry mixed with some storytelling and a sick hook…giving you that music to relate to. “All I Know” was on repeat for a minute. The most well rounded track I’ve heard so far. Sean Price drops a verse and the soulful hook compliments that shit perfectly. These two MCs on a track are a problem, fuck around and get hurt. “Ya Hear Me”, laced by 9th Wonder, is most def the most introspective song on here. Jozeemo gets his pimp on with “J.M. Heartbreak”…you gotta cater to the females at some point because they support and buy records too. I couldn’t tell you if this joint gets the ladies open but that hook is classic none the less. My favorite joint tho is “Ain’t Believe In Joe”. The intensity on this one is crazy. This is some ready for war type shit, some “your chick getting sodomized” type shit. That quote was borrowed off the track by the way.

Jozeemo got something for everyone on here; the project def has that balance too. The main thing that I learned from this mixtape is I need to be checking for Jozeemo. Chuck T did his thing throughout, the music was highlighted and shit was talked…two things every artist mixtape should have. A couple things really stand out for Joe Murda tho…the delivery on the MIC is polished and the confidence on the MIC is evident. Many cats can rhyme but can they present the music in a way that sounds good? That’s what he’s got going for him, and like stated before everything else (word play, concepts, story, lyrics) are well balanced. Now I know why Jozeemo will be L.A.F. 'n later. (10/9/07)
