I'm diggin the title to this project; Pyrex Prophecy. That shit is type fly. We got DJ Nice hosting and keeping shit moving, shout to him doing big things in 2008. I can't say I'm all that familiar with P.A. before listening to this mixtape but the features and the host got me interested so I figure why not.

"Pyrex Kid" is the jump off track. A little to much "swag" on the MIC for me but I'm still listening. The joint with Kool G Rap was cool; "Hood Fellaz". P.A. holding his own...I though that beat could have been better but lyrically the shit is tight. As far as P.A. riding solo on a track, "Swaggie Piffin" is the first joint to hold my ear...the word play is on point fo' so'. Production wise "I Was Told" was the shit. That feel good vibe is undeniable. Not really diggin' the features but P.A. did his thing; the monotone flow and the complex word play is working. Did dude say "get ya thumb out ya ass" on the intro to "Versatile"? Shit was funny to me. As for the mixtape flips, "Be Down" was the best joint to me. 90's R&B is the best shit to flip in my opinion...no one did this beat better than Doo Wop tho. Content wise "Material Possessions" is the wheel. P.A. conjuring up Guru on this one all while getting deep with it on some conversational type flow...matter-a-factly; I can dig it. I'm def fucking with the Tragedy laced "Righteous Scrolls". There's something about that beat that is the polar opposite of what cats think is hip hop today and I love that shit. P.A. on this one murdered his last eight bars or so...best shit I heard on the whole project and real polished too.

P.A. shinning on the production with that real boom bap. His voice just fits on those beats to me. He's got some balance content wise and some direction as far as the messages he wants to get out, so props on that cause most MCs is lost chasing a buck. The word play stands out too, although there were some clichéd bars in there, it's one of P.A's strong points on the MIC. As with most MCs it's the marriage of tone, flow, lyrics, and hook to the right beat that they continue to build towards consistently. You can't deny P.A.s potential either. (5/8/08)
