Welcome D.I.V. to the Rapmullet review section. He hails from Yonkers, he has a new website www.divmusic.net and he's poised for big things. I mentioned his website because when you're talking the internet you have to have a home base and his spot is exactly what every atist should strive for; something that is simple, looks good and is easy to navigate. I think 2008 might be the year artists truly invest in themselves. If you don't spend $ on yourself you can't expect anyone else to either.

DJ Vlad is hosting...doing what he does on the hosting tip. Gey ya bread Vlad. I'm listening to the title track "The Uncovered Truth" and it's got a knock. The flow is focused and I can see D.I.V. is expanding his vocab beyond your normal MC. I can't remember the last time an MC used "methodologies"...he pulled it off tho. "Candy Land" is the shit. The hook is a lil generic but he switches up the flow...that rapid fire shit is the move. After listening to this joint the MIC skills are def on point. The "let me put my stick in your sugar" line could have been left out tho. I'm diggin' the message in "Chemical Love (Raw n Uncut). D.I.V. is one of the few MCs who at least acknowleges the fact he doesn't need to spit your typical gun rap to make shit pop off. Jay Chef did his thing on the beat too. "I’m tryna lock it on all sides/ wit out having to refer to a Glock or a 45." On the flip side "Keep Blazin" is def smoked out; Jay Chef cooked up some smooth shit. Me personally I'm just diggin' the vibe of the whole song. D.I.V with that "magic carpet flow". The true sleeper track on here is "Tension". It's just a well rounded track, def mixtape/single potential.

There's a couple things D.I.V. does really well. His hook game is crazy and he's got the voice for it too. He comes off as a smart dude who's lived lifes up's and downs', he has a message which comes across in the music too, it's that realness. He's got lyrics and as stated above the vocab to match. I think he could work on "word play" a lil more; some lines hit like run on sentences at times. Work on fucking with the words to fit that flow on some Inspectah Deck type shit. I think we need more of the rapid flow too. That shit has mass appeal and will appeal to more cats outside of that Tri-State area. (4/6/08)
