It's Spring time people, that should mean warm weather, cool out music and the car windows down. Ladies get those geo metro's and trackers oiled up, break out the spandex and get you a new R&B mixtape. Stackhouse Recordings steady on the mixtape grind, they are def true believers in mixtape drop-ology...consistient and persistient. Let's see what new R&B cat is butching the latest beats for the masses. (j/k)

Meena got flow people. Peep her with Candace Jones on "This Is Why We Hot" the female remix. She said and I quote: "you can tell I got an ass"...no doubt peep that myspace page. You know how I'm getting old? When I first heard "Ice Box" on the radio I thought he was saying "Sun Spots" and then I was like that shit doens't make any sense. Hahahahahaha, I kill myself. Fabolous was perfect for the remix, that's his type of Rap and Bullshit vibe. "Get It Shawty" is catchy. I find in funny that Young Joc and Budden are on a track together. Joey Boy would eat Joc alive lyrically any day of the week. Speaking of Lloyd, his album is type dope. "Street Love" is a corny title but the young dude is doing his thing. Shout to The Inc, still getting it in on the R&B tip. Is Sterling Simms the bizzaro version of Mike Jack from 1982. "Nasty Girly" has an "Can't Stop Till You Get Enough" vibe going on and some high pitched vocals...somebody remove Sterling's nuts from his throat. Tell me Robin Thicke didn't kill "Lonely World"? One of the best little ballad type songs so far this year. Who is Nicole Swartzeneger? (Winning Women) lol Her managment should have know better than to put her out there with that last name. Worst song on the whole CD? That goes to Marques Houston and Ying Yang Twins with "Come N Get It". Wow, I can't believe their still trying to whisper. That ship has sailed people. (shakes head) If you only cop the CD for one track cop it for John Legend and Jadakiss on the "Heaven Remix". Shit is smooth, get ya chippers Jadakiss.

It might be early to put the windows down in the ride but that day is coming soon. I think music all the way around needs to stop real quick and evaluate the climate of the music. Go back to the lab and break that formulas that are plaguing originality. It only takes one person, one A&R, one label president, and one DJ to step outside the box and set a trend for once. Shit, it's been years since anyone in a postion of real power took a chance. The first people to do this will be well rewarded. (4/9/07)
