I think the last all T.I. mixtape I reviewed was "The Leak". I'm def a T.I. fan and there's a big buzz around this mixtape right now. I'm not a fan of Trap-A-Holics mixtapes just to put that out there. Their shit is like paint by numbers for mixtapes. Mixtape drop, play track, while track is playing play annoying drop, another drop, pause, play new track and while track is playing use 5 drops over track...repeat.

It's been a minute since I listened to a Big Mike mixtape. I need to get up on that "new" since I rarely download from blogs and Mike is one of the only cats still getting those "true exclusives". I think the last time we reviewed an "exclusive" mixtape was like 8 months ago...damn. Is the compiliation style "exclusive" mixtape dead? Peep the Rapmullet murder of the month at the end of the week to find out.

All you fake ass mixtape fans need to break yo self and cop you a DJ Rhude mixtape. Ya'll quick to cop a mixtape with a pretty cover and a big as turd of a mixtape on the actual CD. Mr Mecca, what's going on family? Let the readers know about the movement.

No DJ does a "best of" project like the one they call J. Period. It's that audio/mixing documentary mixtape style that separates J. Period from the pack. Let me put you up on something real quick too. Very rarely do you get a classic mixtape that is void of any type of skill, so to all you "marketing and promotion" ass DJs who think that's all you need to do "while moving units" your shit will never be classic. This project right here is what you get when you combine "skill" with that "marketing and promotion"...classic.

Ahh shit. Mixtape DJs tuck ya chains...Demolition Men back at it again. They got Glasses Malone sittin' shotgun with the hosting too. They trying to bring that unity to the coast and it's not a bad idea to be honest. If it's one thing cats should learn from the South, they def support their own.
Continue reading Demolition Men - One West.
DJ Shef is def cookin' up some marvelous shit. For all you late to the party cats DJ Shef is from Pittsburgh and he blends his ass off. He rides for Boaz as well as laces all his mixtape too. Honestly I think cats are scared to blend in '09. Safe under the thining that "it's all been done before". Well fuck that, DJ Shef and a few others are keeping blend hope alive, as well as my favorite phrase of the year, mixtape wise taking a big dump in your ear.

Mixtapes worst nightmare is back in the Rapmullet building. Dub Floyd does it for Hip Hop and the rest just falls into place. I wish it was that simple but it never is. Cats gotta put in work, work and more work. That's exactly what Mr. Floyd has been doing. This project right here is all about Ludacris, Nas and Jay-Z, some of that classic Dub Floyd mixing and a whole lotta hip hop.
Continue reading Dub Floyd - I Do It for Hip Hop.
Shout to Mike Waxx, doing his mixtape thing and growing with each new project. He's working with a new artist called Nero straight out of Dimez' home town of Harlem. Waxx claimed this project was filled with 90s beats and me being the 90s fiend that I am it was only natural to take a listen.
Continue reading Nero - Alive & Vibrant.

Welcome City Haze to the Rapmullet review section. He's got DJ Modesty mixing and keeping shit moving. The skills are proper I can dig it, he was even beat matching tracks which is rare on an artist mixtape.
Continue reading City Haze - City Lane.
Is that Superstar Jay again hosting an artist mixtape? Damn, that man is anywhere and everywhere. That's how you survive in the mixtape game in '09 tho, shout to him. This is where I say MAF is slept on blah blah blah. Fuck that. He's got his pants around his ankles and he's about to take a big ole dump in ya ear. Get to listening!
Continue reading MAF (Money & Fame) - Previncible.
I'm feeling good today, so I figure that I can could give you something to enjoy whether its rnb or hip hop. One of the legends of the mix tape game can still rock with the best of today. So now, let me just drop that 2 for 1 on everybody.

The second classic mixtape of 2009 people is here. While everyone has been complaining about the lack of blends Egg Nice solidifies his spot in mixtape history. One of only a handful of DJs who consistently comes with a concept and skillful ass blends each and every release. This time out the box its Jay Z over Kanye's beats and of course some Kanye too. Mos Def, Lupe and Nas make appearences but it's Jay-Z getting the most shine.

DJ Drama lists the top 10 DJs that influenced him along with a few honorable mentions.

Ahhhh man, here we go. Lyrics...lyrics...lyrics...lyrics...and more lyrics. I'm picturing where Big Lou's would be right now if he would have come up say in 1995 as an MC. I know one thing; he would have been hailed as quite possibly one of the "kings" when it came to MIC skills. That skill is lost on a lot of the new generation of hip hop fans who walk around like zombies not even knowing what their favorite MC is saying, just that they like the beat and the hook sounds nice. Makes me want to slap someone.
Continue reading Big Lou - 24 Hourz Mixtape.
Welcome DJ Emir to the Rapmullet review section. His catch phrase is "Real DJs Do Real Things" so I'm expecting some skill and some mixing. Check out his website: www.djemir.com when you get a chance. Def a quality home base for a quality DJ, cats need to take notes on the business side of things.
Continue reading DJ Emir - Vol. 10: Iron Man Mixtape.
We don't normally review instrumental type mixtapes but this series right here is gaining some traction in the hip-hop world. I gotta give credit where credit is due; this is becoming an important tool in the mixtape world; especially for MCs. With the endless mass of producers mimicking the mass of MCs in the world today projects like this are needed so cats get their shine.

Welcome Bishop The Greek to the Rapmullet review section. Bynoe from the Riot Squad is hosting, shout to him. The Kaos laced cover says "Music Inspired by the Motion Picture" and for an artist mixtape, you need to find that inspiration in any and everything you can. Bishop goes by the name "The Black James Cagney", the young bucks might not know who that is but it's an ill moniker nonetheless.
Continue reading Bishop The Greek - Angel Witta Dirty Face.
DJ DesperadoMan, cats are despicable with this mixtape shit. Look at this bitch asses mixtape cover below. Peep how he jacked 2Mello's and Miami Kaos' to make his own. They're two grown men and can stick up for themselves, but we couldn't let this go.

I love this fucking beat man. It's the personification of mixtape music from the late 90's.
Continue reading Track REview: Boss Gang ft. Montega & Brick Saavy - Four Horsemen Pt. 1.
One of my favorite MCs decides to drop another project, shout to MAG. He's also one of the most thorough cats out of Boston on the MIC. DJ Envy is hosting which for any artist is a great ass look. Envy's one of the last remaining mixtape vets from the "golden" mixtape era still getting it in. Shout to him.
Continue reading M.A.G. - Got Juice? 2 No Bitchassness!.
Shout to DJ Raze One getting it in all over the place these days and he's never one to shy away from supporting an unsigned artist. Gutta's been around for a minute now too. If you don't know him by now you're not a fan of lyrics, punch lines or straight up slick word play. The title says feed me beats but to be honest that's always something Gutta's been lacking...quality beats that match his level of lyrics.
